What has made this world lose the ability of thinking and believing on the their own? We always rely on people above us to think and act for us. Why is that? Has the fear to sink so low in peoples thoughts, forced this world to live in fear of doing what they think is right?

it's always been that way... we had a brief period known as the "Enlightenment" where we started to break away from that.. but we have stagnated since.

i dont agree! i think that the way people above us decide certain things is by knowing what the little people want to be happy. I know my dad doesnt live in fear of people above him, he and my mom. they are my biggest role modles and i get what i know from them. When the people above us want to decide something and dont look to the rest of the world they would be hated and not be able to keep their job (president, govanar (sp?), Boss). We do rely on the people above us to act on what we think and believe and if they didnt no one would like them, thats what i think. People who rely on other people to decide for them are obviously afraid of themselves and dont know how and what to think. those are the people who end up depressed because they are never doing what they want to do and never are thinking what they think they want to think. I hope this made scense.

You're generalizing. I think for myself, as do many people I know. I don't rely on others, or a group of others - to make decisions for me.

There will always be people who follow blindly, just as there will always be people to lead them.
