I suggest vinegar. You can use it in a spray bottle straight or mix it with water, depending on the grease you need to cut through. Also, don't wipe it up right away - give it a few seconds to begin working. Vinegar kills bacteria and it is acidic so it cuts through grease very well. No, the scent does not stick around, it evaporates well. Best of all, it's inexpensive compared to so many other products!

The above answers are good. I would go further and suggest that after the appliances are clean, put on a very thin coat of car wax to the exterior of refrigerator, dishwasher, etc. I would hesitate to recommend waxing the stove. I didn't. That should help keep them clean and look like new.

Manually scrape all the excess grease off with a rag or paper towel. There are a bunch of different cleaners on the market. Simple green is one of the better ones, IMHO. Good luck.

there are 2 kinds of fat or grease. animal fat or solvent based grease. to remove a solvent base you must use a solvent based soap or cleaner with butel. Animal fat or cooking grease takes a lot of elbow grease and a good soap or cleaner. dint fall for the gimmicks.
