That's a great question. From time to time we all see dead birds, babies or adults, on the ground, but not very many. I can only imagine a weak bird would be resting in a tree before dying, then falling onto the ground. On the ground any number of insects and animals would eat it.

I have a hunch that you are not all that observant, or don't get outside very often. Bird sometime die in mid flight, and fall dead right below, wherever that might be. Yes, sometimes their carcasses get taken away (e.g., by a cat or some other animal) but I have seen plenty, in my yard and in the street.
I remember a popular schtick in B movies back in the 50s, where they spoke about elephant graveyards, where the Great White Hunter could find a fortune in ivory tusks. It's just that, a fantasy, to think that birds go somewhere to die. Many of them die in the winter and because they are fragile creatures, the carcasses decompose rapidly.

I see dead birds all the time, but then again - I live in the woods on 8.5 acres. Dead birds are quickly eaten by the local scavengers and their carcasses hauled off piecemeal by insects.

They get eaten. Scavengers have very strong senses of smell and can smell a dead animal (food) from miles away. Soon after the bird dies, it gets eaten by any of a number of scavengers, such as vultures, insects, and even bacteria.

If you own a cat that is skilled at hunting, you will see dead birds frequently.
My guess is that a bird about to expire usually goes back to its nest, or to a dark hole somewhere.

if u mean when they die, where do they go, then i would probally say heaven. but if u are saying if they have a special spot to die, then i don't know. i had a bird that died and he was just on the bottom of the cage.

The cats carry them under the bushes to finish them off.
