I have a GE washer (model WWSR3130W1WW) and last night when I went to do some laundry, it ran, but at the end of the cycle it wouldnt spin. My clothes were drenched (yeck). I tried to restart it, but it just wouldn't spin. I'm thinking (because its been squeeky lately) that the belt broke or the pulley is frozen maybe. But I can't figure out how to open my washer up to peek inside. Any help is appreciated!

There is a switch that is made when the door is closed, if this switch is not made then the tub will not spin. If you can turn the machine to get to the back of it, then you can remove the back access panel and look in there to see the belt.

There are also 2 clips that hold the top down. You can slide a thin metal bar into a front corner and push it towards the rear, hopefully you will be able to feel it unlatch. Do this on both sides. Then the top will raise up and you can look inside. If you have never done this before, it may be a little complicated. good luck.

the belt is under the washer. what you ahve to do is pull the washer away from the wall make sure your turn off the water to it and also unplug it . then you can remove the back of the washer and look at the bottom to see if the belt broke which i a msure it did . you wil ahve to get a replace belt for it and yes it is a diy project

take a putty knife along the top edge and push down on the front panel and it will pop right off
look at the electric pump at the bottom
with any luck something might be in it
also the clutch will slip over time with these machines
but you know what?
this machine is not worth fixing unless you have an extended warranty I would try and see if the little electric pump is bad or the belt busted and if that ain't it then chunk it
it is junk
just my opinion

The drive motor and belt is located on the bottom. Flip it onto either side to reveal the motor and mechanism. You may be able to down load the service manual.

I don't suggest that you open your washer. Most of this home appliances lose their warranty if they are tampered with. But just in case, here is a site that can give you information on what to do.
