Why r u freaked out? thunderstorms? Well if the pilot thought for a second that he might b in danger do u think he'd fly? Do u think he's going 2 put his life in danger? RELAX... u will b fine. I fly several times a month and have been in the air during many storms. P.S. I'm married to a very intelligent pilot.

The people that work the planes and control towers are experts. They'll know if there is danger from the weather, so don't worry about it. They may delay the flight a bit if its serious, or land you somewhere else until the weather improves. They won't do anything to put you in any sort of danger.

Planes have lots of gadgetry on board to circumvent thunderstorms. The pilot doesn't like them anymore than you do. On-board Doppler Radar and an entire network of controllers (both FAA and private sector) help the pilot avoid those areas.
Statistically, you're much safer in an airplane than in any other method of transport.
Fly safe!

airplanes are designed to withstand these types of conditions plus they are equipped with the latest and greatest technology like GPS navigation and weather tracking equipment. You will probably fly around the storms and land safely, and even if your plane gets caught in a storm it is strong enough to withstand the high winds and being struck by lightning (actually happens quite often but you never hear about it because it never causes any problems).

when I was scared on the plane, I looked at it like this, if the people that are working on the plane arent scared, i shouldnt be scared. they're on the planes everyday and they probably just look at the bad weather as a bad day on the job coming up because they'll be a buch of scared passengers on the plane that will aggrevate them. think of it as you're just going to work with them for the day.

Take a sedative and if you have some soothing music.. plug that into the ears. If you drink, have a drink.. would not mix the sedative with a drink.. unless you want to feel really good.. but if you do not do medication or drink.. then try something natural like praying, take a good inspirational book with you. FEAR is future events appearing real.

Take it slow you know. Dont think about it. Bring a pillow and an ipod or such. That always gets me through. I hate them so much. Just bring some things to take your mind off. But your best bet is trying to sleep. Once you land it is over yha know .

listen, there is nothing to flying, ok? when i enlisted in the army, i volunteered to go airborne, and my recruiter said, "you must really like to fly!" and i said, i dont know, never been on a plane! every one in that room turned and stared at me, saying i must be nuts. but, i did it, became airborne qualified, and believe me, if i can fly on so many military planes with no problems, you will be ok, too!
