From what I understand of the arguments (the ones you attribute to "lefties").....
The issue isn't paying tribute. It's about not causing collateral damage -- whether economic or environmental.
There's also an issue about social balance, and how often (and how much) the rich should be required to support the poor. Rich corporations are treated the same as another other source of money under that debate.

Taxed to live,Taxed to to get married, Taxed to have a baby, Taxed to die,
Professional Politicians are the terrorists.
Living life at 15% to government.
Left or Right pays the same taxes, ever looked at what a gallon of gas costs before taxes.
Food is taxed at every sate line it crosses and every truck it is loaded on.
Water is taxed every month.
Garbage is also.
Yes we are staying in our place while the few reap enormous funds from our existance.

Well said. The way they compartmentalize this is amazing to watch. They love the tax revenue but bash corporations and rich people all the time. It's a mental disorder.

-high taxes
