I don't agree with the premise of your question. People should not look to government to do anything right. It never does. The health care industry and the insurance industry are the most regulated in the US. It is government interference that has created problems for both industries. Paper work, regulations, bureaucratic red tape, frivolous laws suits all have served to increase the expense of health care.
Cut back on government, let the free market work, and you will see improvements.

Monitor the charges of Doctors and hospitals. Most hospitals
have an office that does nothing but deal with over charging patients. Generally patients with insurance allow themselves to be gouged. Those without, question the charges. Insurance companies raise their premiums yearly to keep up.
Things like 7.00 for 2 Tylenol are just ridiculous as is 80.00 an office call. Medicare covers most of the office call for the elderly, so doctors are gouging the government. No different than Haliburton. Get things like that under control and maybe more people can afford insurance.

The best thing the government could do would be to stay out of it! The government runs nothing as well as the private sector.

I think it is the voters that should do something about it. next time someone suggests socialized medicine (like hillary did) we should not be afraid of change and vote for it.

free for everyone as we do that thorugh taxes for the young to have children and then we raise them with tax dollars and yet they will not pay the taxes for all people.for free health care
