This weekend my hubby & I took our little guy swim at a local park. There was a little boy there named Hobie. I thought it was very unique & different... Kind of cute. What do you think?

Please note: This is NOT my sons name. His name is Brody :) Just a kid at the park - I do not want to name my next name Hobie by any means, I just wanted to share it with you all and see what you thought. I thought it was definitly different and for an adorable little 4 year old, a cute name. I do agree nothing I'd want mt son of 35 to be called.

Cute name. It does sound more fitting for a wee one though. The son of the Hoff when he was on Baywatch was named Hobie. Thats the only time I have ever heard that as a name(besides the surf Co.)

If I called a business and spoke to someone named Hobie I would automatically think I was talking to an inferior person. Names mean a lot in life. Stop looking for cute names and think about what that name will mean when he's 35.

Not a good name for a little boy and an absolutely horrible name for the grown man this little boy will become some day. Parents really need to think before giving these so-called cutesy unique names to their children.

I think Hobie will get beat up by boys named Jason or Marcus.

Nothing could have or would have suited me better in this world. Coincidentally, a lot of the Christians and Jonathans and Michaels and Tylers and Kyles & so-ons were either pretty bland individuals to which their names held no light to who they were, or just down right shitbags. And then, and then there's the boy named Sue... pretty sure nobody wanted to mess with that kid.

Hobie is a great name for a sailboat - the Hobie Cat.
I would think that the named would be called "hobby" in class.

You may as well name him, "Please kick my butt."
What you need to think about is how he will grow into the name. Can you imagine a 55-year old man named "Hobie"?
What kind of professional life are you setting this child up for?
