I have all 6 Harry Potter books in the childrens format, though they are no different from the adult version, and i'm 24.
When I get the 7th book, it too will be the childrens version. I don't know why, but I prefer them as they're more colourful.

The material is identical. Only the cover picture is different. The same is true for the other books in the series that have both an adult and a childrens cover

The same content inside each. Early on they were afraid adults would be embarassed to be reading a "children's book" so they made two different covers.

Inside there are minor wording changes only between US and English versions in case American kids misunderstood the British references.

There is no difference in the content, only in the covers.

It's so that adults in Britian don't feel as silly, carrying around a book that is stereotypically seen as a children's book. Although, it's obviously not just for kids if so many adults are reading it!

Only the covers differ.

They started bringing out adult versions of the cover to stop commuters feeling embarrassed about reading a 'kids book' on the train. I've read em all!

No text differnce just the cover, and i think the writing might be smaller to read in the Adult one. The kids book has the trio on the front and the adults book has a locket with S on it.

No there is no difference. JKR made one version. Remeber don't judge a book by the cover. They are the same inside. Unless it is the deluxe version then you get extra drawings inside.
