I'm not sexually active, but I have stopped eating meat recently. I was wondering if maybe that was the cause of it, and if that is anything to worry about.

Periods are crazy they can be set off by any bodily changes. I would wait another week and if it hasn't started by then see an OBGyn.

I know I'm a guy but I was married to a woman for many years who had irregular periods. Diet can be a cause, especially when you have cut out something like red meat. You might want to look into taking a daily supplement. If you have been tired recently you might be showing signs of low iron and that does affect menstrual cycles.

You should see a doctor (as already recommended) and tell him/her what changes you have made in your lifestyle (diet, activity, sleeping habits, etc.). 5 days is probably nothing to panic over but here are any number of things that could case a late period. It is nothing you want to play around with. I have friends who have had major medical issues and one of their symptoms was late or irregular periods.

I hope everything works out ok for you.
