something like that happened to me when I was a bout ten, and I said no thank you, I thought i was doing the right thing,
the person walked away with a sad face on. then an older person told me you can say no once, and if they offer again you take it, this is what that person wants to do so why hurt their feelings.. so from then on I say no ( if I do not want it) then take what ever it is they are giving away if they insist..even if I do not keep it after t hey leave...

I'd take it then say "thank you" and give them a big hug! Never, ever turn down money! If a person wants to give you money, they are doing so because it makes them feel good! Make certain to express how thankful you are so that they get the satisfaction they are seeking by doing a good deed!

I look at it this way the Federal, State & Local Governments TAKE money from me at every turn without even an explaination. ....so if some one wants to give me an unrequested "paperless" return.... I'm taking it.

I would be skeptical on why a total stranger would want to give me anything. I would be aprehensive about accepting it.

depends:
if donald trump gave me money i would take it
if some random person gave me money i would ask them why then go donate it to charity. (obviously they were giving it like charity anyway, so why not give it to someone who needs it more?)
