Back in the day racing aircooled FZs we ran header wrap mostly in an attempt to keep temps down, which should keep HP up. Just to put on for looks? probably way more trouble than its worth, plus if you ride in the wet and get road grime all in there, all that moisture may speed the demise of your exhaust.

Exhaust wrap will void the manufacturers warranty on the headers. Exhaust wrap is designed to keep under hood temps down which is where the claims of horsepower gains come from. To rebut to the guy who contradicted me, yes it will void the warranty on any after market header and or the manufacture, wrap causes the metal to retain more heat and moisture leading to shortened life, the welds at the collector and flange will be the first to go, if they are stainless their is still ill effects, best bet is jet hot coating.

Wrapping your headers will not hurt anything. It should be a slight increase in horsepower since header wrap helps keep heat in your headers and away from your engine. It probibaly won't be a big enough horse power increase to notice while you are riding around, but almost anything that helps keep your engine temperature down is a good thing.

Header wrap will hold moisture and will probably rot out your exhaust.

You should gain a small amount of hp by keeping the exhaust gas hot as it leaves. I doubt if you'll notice the difference. But who knows, go for it.

It's not going to void a warranty. It's not going to enhance performance.. If I were you I'd just powdercoat the header.. Now that's gangster
