Yes, as you lose the cushioning between the vertebrae in your back (or suffer injuries), if you have osteoporosis, or if you have poor posture. Over time - these things matter.
You get shorter. My mother used to be much taller than me - now we're almost the same height.

Yes... As you grow older, your spine becomes more compressed and you lose 1-2 inches in height. Elderly people also start to hunch over, which makes them seem even shorter.

The reason you might get shorter as you grow older is because of your spine.. It may become 'bent' because of bad sitting positions or standing positions. That's why so many old people complain about bad backs.

Some do. Osteoporosis causes your bones to get less dense, and the spine to curve. That's why it's so important for people to get extra calcium. Drink your milk, eat cheese and yogurt, take supplements now, or you'll spend your dotage staring only at your feet.

Yes, as you age, your spine compresses, females need more calcium to help combat this problem. Same holds true for males, good diet and nutrition along with sensible stretching can help fight the natural effects of gravity and aging.

The only reason you seem shorter as you get older is your back tends to bend. Either from poor posture, scoliosis, or just plain tired!

You can, and most people do a little. Some do a lot. Loss of height with aging is due to loss of compression of inter-vertebral disks and compression of the vertebrae themselves. People with severe osteoporosis can loose a lot of height due do compression fracture of the vertebrae

My teach said after the age of 33 you lose like a quarter of an inch or something every year. I'm not sure if it's true, that's what he told us. And yes, he was a very serious person.

You can actually get shorter because of your spine shrinking or curving because of osteoporosis. Get plenty of calcium.
