Of course you start baby corns off on pinkies about one every four or five days but as they grow so should the food and here is how to tell.
Your corn will eat then then go to the bathroom( and by bathroom i mean crap all over the side of the cage) but when that takes place you feed again. This will happen almost exactly 6 days after eating.
When you notice that he is going to the bathroom sooner than that around day 4 then it is safe to increase the size of food you give him.
As a snake out grows its food items it will digest them faster.
hope i helped.

Theas right about how to determine the size of the mouse or rat you should feed . It should not be larger than the thickest part of your snakes body . As your snake grows so will the size of his food . You should feed a young snake every 5-7 days and an adult snake every 7-10 days as many mice /rats as they will eat in a half an hour time .

Depends what your looking for, I dont know much about corn snakes. Rats are better than Mice, Mice are Way too fast to handle properly, Rats however are Smart, Boy rats grow really fat so dont run arround as much as a female rat, So they are a good pet if you want somthing you can sit down and stroke, They have great balance and live for arround 5 years Since i was a kid my family have been getting pet rats, They are very good and intresting pets, They get to know you, Can be funny to watch, good climbers, and inteligent. Corn snakes, Well you'd probably have to feed them live animals, So if your the type of person that gets attatched to things easily i wouldnt get a corn snake, Wouldnt be too nice if you got attathched to the Mouse you had to feed your corn snake.

A suitable size mouse has about the same body thickness that your snake does at the snake's thickest point. It can be a bit bigger then that and still be fine. I usually feed one appropriate sized mouse every 5 to 10 days depending on the age of the snake and only double up when the prey seems a bit small for the snake I'm feeding.
