In MI today theyre having a funeral, an actual funeral, with a coffin, for the 'n' word. I know the word is bad, but you dont give a word a funeral, even abolishing a word isn't going to make people stop saying it. Funerals are supposed to be for loved ones, n***er wasn't even a loved word. I just cannot think of anything stupider than a funeral for a word.

a lot of people and cultures have funerals for something they dislike. it is their way of distancing themselves from it.
you know, you can even buy a wedding ring coffin after you get divorced?
yes, to some it's stupid. but for others, it's a statement, a closure. can't say i disagree with it, because it makes people feel better.

every person has the free will and right to do whatever they want as long as it does not go against the free will and rights of others or violate the laws, rules and mores of the culture, society and country in which one resides.
