I stopped taking my birth contol pill so my husband and I could try to start having a family. A few days after stopping I started bleeding, but not heavy like a normal period. I have had fullness in my stomach, cramping, slight nausea, slight headaches and back pain. Could I be pregnant or are they just side effects from stopping the pill. I know it is to early to take a home pregnancy test. I guess I should wait about four weeks?

After stopping birth control you will have a withdrawl bleed, which is what you had. It is normal. It can take a few months for your body to get back on track and start ovulating again so you can get pregnant.

sounds like side effects to me. Make sure to chart your period for now to know when you become regular again. It may take some time for your body to get back to normal. I know if I miss more than 3 pills in a cycle I have some bleeding, so this probably your body just working on not having the extra hormones.

I'm thinking it's from stopping the pill. The pill regulates your cycles and when you stop, your body thinks it's time for your period.
