Stop immigration from Muslim countries.
Monitor mosques known to be affiliated with extremist groups.
Deport all radical Islamic preachers - immediately.
Close all single faith schools - whether Muslim, Jewish, Catholic. Make all children who are British citizens learn together, learn about each other.
Put more police on the streets; if they're not there, how can they notice anything suspicious?? In the failed bomb attacks this month, it was the people at the nightclub and also the bouncers who noticed something was wrong with the car that contained the explosives.
Make all new immigrants pledge allegiance to the values and ethics of Britain; i.e. rejecting extremism of all types.
Restore a sense of national pride.
Ban radical Islamic group, Hizbut Tahrir, from all university campuses, where it is currently at liberty to recruit. Hizbut Tahrir is banned in many Arab nations, yet the UK refuses to get tough with them.

There is no best way, because, as stated, terrorism is a tactic. You have to show willingness to use arms to try and defeat them while showing those who are thinking of using terrorism that were not that bad and we want to help them. I personally believe it is beter to go and fight the problem sooner, rather then later (I.E: Look what hitler did, in 1933,34,35,36 and even up to 38 [a year before WWII started] France could of easily defeated Germany by itself.) There were many terrorist attacks before 9/11 (First WTC attack, Embassy bombings, the Cole bombings) were al-qaeda wasn't as mainstream as it is now and could be beaten more easily. Now they (and splinter cells) are everywhere and will be harder to beat. IMO, we should take out the Iranian leaders somehow or get them to stop supplying al-Qaeda some how. During the british hostage negotiations, i was thinking we should of just taken Ahmajid and the Ayatollah and trade them for the hostages. In the words of Roossevelt, we should speak softly and carry a big stick.

We must stop listening to the Chicken Little crowd and accepting mindless propaganda issued for purely political purposes. Instead, learn what the goals (certainly not "killing us all," "destroying our way of life," etc.) of the terrorists.
Once we have gained a true understanding of what motivates the terrorists, they can be countered politically and socially (domestically as well as at their "root"), both of which are far more effective than military action in most cases.
Taking al_Qaeda as an example. The vast majority of Americans have no idea that the attacks on us were in support of a specific 5-point core agenda, supported by most Middle Easterners. If those 5 points had been addressed (not agreed to, simply addressed), most of the rage that feeds them could have been (and can still be) dissipated. Show them that their position, whether we agree with it or not, is being taken seriously and future terrorist activities will be viewed by their current supporters as counter-productive and a threat to their cause. Once seen as a threat by those they claim to represent, they and their activities will be rejected. Without popular support, they will fade into history without so much as a whimper. On the other hand, if we continue to ignore the true issues in favor of mindlessly fanning the flames of the rage at the center of the problem, while offering no solutions, the attacks will continue.
This all is not to say that military action is never justified. Afghanistan, where the government harbored and was basical intertwined with those who attacked us is an example of a perfectly reasonable response. However, while justified, it has done nothing to address the issues behind the attacks.

Military - yes. We should use whatever force necessary to demolish specific targets - including nuclear - yes I said it. Not sure I agree with this concept of overthrowing entire countries, because it's not a country that we are fighting.
CIA, FBI, ABC, XYZ - yes, yes, yes. They are infiltrating us. We need to (and I'm sure we are) doing the same. We need our info from the inside.
I think the government can listen to everything I say and watch everything I do and I don't give a crap. I have nothing to hide and I don't care what they know about me. I think we ought to have a camera on every street corner just like in GB.
On Mosques - hmmmm. That's a tough one. I'd have to think about that one for a while. We're on sacred ground here. However, think about the Branch Dividians. They weren't violent were they? If I recall correctly, they just suspected they were organizing for some sort of uprising and knew they were well-equipped. When you look at it from that angle, I don't know why we would treat mosques any differently. They seem much more threatening because there's a whole network of them - there was just one compound in Waco and one nut to conquer. (I'm not saying Waco was right, just that it's an interesting double-standard).
How to fix this:
1) We should consider a rewards-based approach. Use whatever currency applies (I don't mean monetary necessarily - just whatever matters most to the ally) and reward people for providing valuable information and actions to thwart terrorist training and activities.
2) Our foreign aid and trade relations should be totally based on a country's ability to control the people in it as it relates to this issue. If you can't get your sh*& together, then you don't get any American money - PERIOD.
3) We must control our borders NOW and then clean up the sewage that's already seeped in.
God help us all.

2)CIA use to gather Information. That was the outline as set by Congress,Senate and President,at that time.
3) No
4) What Church did Timothy McVeigh attend.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oklahoma_City_bombing
The Oklahoma City bombing was a terrorist attack on April 19, 1995 aimed at the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building, a U.S. government office complex in downtown Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The attack claimed 168 lives and left over 800 injured. Until the September 11, 2001 attacks, it was the deadliest act of terrorism on U.S. soil.[1]
Just 90 minutes after the explosion, an Oklahoma Highway Patrol officer pulled over 27-year old Timothy McVeigh for driving without a license plate and unlawfully carrying a weapon.[2] Within days after the bombing, Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols were both arrested for their roles in the bombing. Investigators determined that McVeigh and Nichols were sympathizers of an anti-government militia movement and that their motive was to avenge the government's handling of the Waco and Ruby Ridge incidents. McVeigh was executed by lethal injection on June 11, 2001; Nichols was sentenced to life in prison. A third conspirator, Michael Fortier, who testified against the two conspirators, was imprisoned for failing to warn the U.S. government. As with other large-scale terrorist attacks, conspiracy theories dispute the official claims and point to additional perpetrators involved.
The attacks led to the U.S. government passing legislation designed to increase protection around federal buildings and to thwart future terrorist attacks. Under these measures, law enforcement has since foiled over fifty domestic terrorism plots.[3] On April 19, 2000, the Oklahoma City National Memorial was dedicated on the site of the Murrah Federal Building to commemorate the victims of the bombing.
That man was American Made , American Trained, and far as I know attended a Christian Church.
The best way to defeat an enemy is to make friends. Then sit down and talk it out. if one of your peoples goes al Time McViegh or Al'Kinda , deal with the individual.
The Country is not at fault for the action of a Citizen. Well , not completely.
Give peace a chance.

I personally could careless if someone tapped my phone...it may be necessary, but only to those that are SUSPECTED terrorist not ordinary people like me whose phone conversations are boring to others! Um...Close down those damned mosque that are know to harbor terrorist...Lord knows that there are enough places for them to hide!! Military action is needed at times....CIA...sure...let them have a stab at it! We need to take all precautions and make sure that the war on terror is not fought on American soil! While I believe that there will always be people that hate America I believe that we can keep it at bay for the most part, but we can not be scared to fight the fight!!!!!!

World terrorism in a year has never matched America's one-month traffic fatalities. Treat it as the minor problem that it is, let the cops deal with it. Take the billions spent on window-dressing measures like airport searches and spend it on preparedness for big threats, like floods and fires. Quit bullying the world. Treat Americans and the rest of the world like they were respectable people with rights and responsibilities, restoring the idea of innocent until proven guilty. Get our government to obey the law so that it has some moral standing instead of just stealing rights in the name of protecting them.

Talk, education and understanding...the day everyone in the Western World learns what a Muslim is and what a Shiite, Sunni, Jew, Hindu, sikk etc are and what they stand for and believe in, then and only then will terrorism stop...as long as you have powerful nations firing cruise missiles into neighbourhoods, you will have terrorism to fight back...what is so wrong with a person fighting for what he believes in against nations who destroy their towns and villages...kill their children..drop cluster bombs on them..it is a sad comment on society that a freedom fighter is called a terrorist...George Washington and Nelson Mandela were terrorists to begin with...these people are no different than you and I but they have to get their message across somehow and it is not easy fighting cruise missiles and cluster bombs..the most accurate way they can find because they have no computer guided missiles is to carry the bomb to the most devastating location...if America and the rest of the Western World start to listen then we might see peace....holding my breath because I do believe it will happen

If we beat Fundamentalist Islam the next group of people wanting to do us harm will also use terrorism since it is a very effective tactic.
