If you want the best diversification in one holding, buy SPY. This is an ETF (exchange-traded fund) that invests in all 500 companies of the S&P 500. It's a great start and will do better than 3/4ths of all other mutual funds or individual stocks you can pick over a 5-year period (according to the statistics).
You MIGHT get lucky and pick one of those four. But... do you really want to take that chance?

according to efficient market theory, you can pick about any stock and the probability of it going up or down should be about the same as any other. I however am not a proponet of the that theory. Chinese stocks at the moment are very attractive from both a technical and a fundamental standpoint in my opinion. The easies way to invest in Chinese stocks is through a mutual fund. There are several closed end funds that are currently selling at significant discounts to net assets. Here they are CHN, TDF, CAF, JFC, GCH. Also three index funds FXI, PGJ, and GXC. I am not too thrilled with the index funds because they are cap weighted, but they have outperformed the closed end funds so far this year, except for CAF.

What do you mean by " much anticipated and predicted crash... of stock market". Were you the one expecting this? Have you ever invested in the markets? If so, have you ever gained much? I do not get the rational for your question! Mr. You need to do some research! I think that today was just another "down" day in the markets caused by a long haul by the housing and credit crisis!

Investors who buy stocks at random without doing the research and understanding the market lose money - it's more fun to just take your money to Las Vegas for the weekend.

Buy anything. Anything might go up or down.
But seriously, when you get an answer how would you know the person answering is not pumping a stock that they really think is a dog and want to dump?

I really like PGIC right now. Its bouncing off the 50ma here and should go back from its current state past 6.00. It would be good for like a week or so. Could make 15% back or so in that time. Not bad!

If you do not do your own research to determine what you want to invest your money in, that is called gambling.
