You should ask your pedia on your son's six month old visit. For my daughter, she started on the juice when she's about 8 months old and about 4 oz or less per day. I always mix it with an equal amount of water to make it less sweet and concentrated.
Her pedia dentist does not recommend the apple juice due to it's high fructose ingredients and it can damage the teeth enamel much quicker than the other juice.
Hope this helps you out a bit.

That's a good age to start on juice, but I would dilute the juice 50/50 with water to start. When he can tolerate that without tummy or diarrhea problems, you can increase the amount of juice.
I have three children and have found that my children tolerated white grape the best as a starter juice, followed by apple.

It's best to wait until he's at least 12 months old. We only recommend starting juice if the baby refuses water when starting a sippy cup. Then we say to add a little 100% juice ot the water to get them to drink from it. If your baby will take the water, then there is no need to start juice, it just gives them a sweet tooth.

4 oz. total for the day. If you buy the baby type "gentle" juice, you usually don't have to dilute it, but I still do because it was too strong for my 6 month old. I do a 50/50 mix with distilled water. I still only do 4oz total including the water so not to interfere with her formula intake.
Regular juice should always be diluted 50/50 with water.

He shouldn't consume anymore that four ounces and try to give 50% juice and 50% water to take some of the sugar taste out this will help keep him from developing a sweet tooth.

start him out on some water. it's better than juice. juice tends to have too much natural sugars for a baby. flavor his water maybe w/ an ounce of juice.
also if you're breastfeeding continue w/ that for atleast another 6 months

Apple juice isn't empty calories, unless it as added sugar - which you definitely should avoid. However, I do agree with diluting it, especially if it's your baby's first time. Maybe 2oz apple juice and 2oz water. I am anti-sugary drinks when it comes to me and my son, since those ARE empty calories. My son is 1 1/2 and he drinks both water and juice comfortably.

You should do half juice half water. I have read that when introducing juice to put it in a sippy cup because you don't want you baby to get use to drinking everything out of a bottle.

Like the pp said no more than 4 oz. a day and just be sure to do half water and half juice since most juices (even Gerber) can be sugary.

My best answer is DONT! Babies don't need juice or the sugars, natural or otherwise that are in them. A baby is just fine with formula/breastmilk and water. Please stay away from the juice until at least one and longer if you can. You can talk to your ped about it also.
