Aggression is common in Red-ear Sliders and some other turtles. In many cases, it is at least partially due to crowding.

Try a bigger tank. Aim for 10 gallons of water per inch of turtle shell length. So if you have 2 2" turtles, you'll need 40 gallons of water, or a 75 gallon tank about half full.

do you know the gender of your turtles? Males have very long tails and claws. If the are both the same gender? They are probably fighting over territory. I suggest taking them out and putting them in separate tanks. Turtles usually don't live with other turtles, unless they are getting ready to mate.

you have upset the territorial stability via including one too many turtles to the tank. you will the two want a) a greater tank or b) place the newcomer in his own tank or c) sell the recent one. Turtles won't be in a position to be reasoned with, and that they gained't finally learn how to get alongside.
