Time, flying, dragging, standing still, is all in our perception of it. WE give it wings, drag or stop it. Time is a measurement, like so many--a concept of the little human mind to keep it from falling off the edge of the FLAT earth. How long is a minute? Look at your watch! A minute can be forever. Or it can be the blink of an eye. Time is really nothing but a continuum. A circle that revolves around itself, like a sphere. You can stretch it, poke holes in it, shorten it--give it "wings." Time isn't doing that; you are.

Oh, you.

The "fly" part actually refers to fleeting -- which of course would lead you to ask, "Ok, then what are its LEGS?"

How about we change the expression to "Time flies by like the wind," in which case we could blame it on nature! :-)
