I'm a heavy metal fan and Ive noticed quite a few are starting to come to these concerts. The population of black people in the United States as of 2005 was 12.8%, so they will not have a huge presence in this industry. You can also point to the fact that metal is traditionally a northern European cultural event, but even this is changing.

I'm white and I love hard rock but I think heavy metal is about the lamest exuse for music ever invented. The singing in heavy metal is a freaking joke and a half, as is the lyrical content and imagery associated with that ridiculous subgenre and it's sub-subgenres.When you compare it to rock and hard rock I don't see how anyone can conclude anything other than heavy metal is retarded sludge for the tone deaf and braindead and the perma-pubescent.

(thumbs down don't hurt me metal sissies)

1. Why is this in the political section?

2. I don't like hard rock, heavy metal or RAP. Give me smooth R&B and gospel any day.

Sorry, but it's a ridiculous, racist question. Many blacks do like hard rock and metal, just as many whites appreciate soul, etc. No racial or ethnic group has title to any one genre of music.

There are lots of black people who like heavy metal. Just as there are whites who like salsa and R&B, East Indians who like Italian ballads and Poles who love bossa nova.
