We're looking at buying a boat (bayliner 21 foot) and wondering if we need to buy an SUV or whether a Saturn sedan can tow it? It looks like our mercedes C-240 cannot, as I looked for towing packages for it and couldn't find any. Thanks!

I owen that car and it cannot pull a boat that size. Personally I'd get a Trailblazer or a Durango with a V8 for the best results and also you'd get more storage for the little things like food, friends... and maybe the kids.

You would have two cars if you tried to hook a 21 footer up to a sedan, let alone a Saturn. You will need to get a fair sized suv or truck to tow it, I would suggest a dodge durango with the 5.7 liter hemi, It comes equipped with mds to improve your fuel economy , but even if you could get a tow package for the Saturn, do not even try it! Good luck!

I dont' think it would be a good idea. Chances are you will tear up the Saturn. If you want to pull a boat, then think about getting a vehicle with a power stroke diesel in it. It will pull your boat and it won't even bother the engine, plus you'll get much better gas mileage than with a gas engine. Plus, if you are like most boaters, every few years, you want to get a bigger boat. Seen that happen quite a few times over the years. Good luck.
