Darling but there' no reason I'm just used to saying it because I was so used to hearing it.

I call my boyfriend "honey" or "hun"...and I have no idea. It seems to fit him. He calls me "darling". Always has. I love it because it's the one term of endearment that I've never been called by someone, so it means more to me.

I usually use my love, because that's what he is...my love. I sometimes use darling, but only when I'm annoyed at him.

Oh, all of the above and "my hottie". Whichever word comes to mind at the time. He does not like "dear". Maybe that sounds like what your gramma calls you.

My love because it's more tender. But really, I don't like any of them. Too generic.

Yes, yes, yes and yes. Plus some other, more personal pet-names best left private.
Why ask why? Who cares why?
