I frequent a private "bar" and there is a membership fee. I paid the membership fee, but have been told by the owner that some of the other customers "ex-boyfriends" do not want me there anymore. Can they legally kick me out? And if I make the same complaint about the "ex-boyfriends" will they have to do the same to them? Do I have any legal rights?

Check the terms of your membership. Usually a party to a contract cannot breach it without being liable for some kind of damages. Assuming this "bar" is a legal establishment.

Why would you want to be at a place where many do not want you there? Yes they can deny your membership with several complaints from different people. You cannot have them kicked out unless you have several member complain about them,not just your complaint since you are no longer a member.

A private club with a private membership can do anything that the membership wishes. Why do I think that there is allot more to this story? Sounds to me that you might think about moving on with your life and leave these jokers in your dust.

If they have a sign that says they have the right to refuse service, then you are probably SOL. If they don't have a sign, then you might maybe possibly have recourse.
Better question is why do you want to hang where you aren't wanted? If those jackazzes are going to kick you out because of what some dimwad says, then you can find a better class of people to hang out with :)

I can't see how you could be kicked out because someone doesn't like you. If you aren't starting any trouble or fights while you're there I can't see a reason why they could. I'm sure, since you have a membership you signed membership papers/contract. If they try to kick you out....tell them to show you in writing with your signature acknowledging receipt that they could kick you out because you are disliked by a patron. I'm sure they couldnt.

Because it is a private establishment, I don't believe that you have much recourse. You could request a re-fund of your dues because they are denying you of the service you payed for. Or you could ask what reasons the other customers want you removed.

Well, if there are a lot of people complaining about you get prorated refund on your membership and drink somewhere else. I sure wouldn't want to drink where I'm not wanted.

if its a privately owned and operated place, then yes, the owners can do anything they want. if, for some reason, you signed a contract that outlines policies when you paid, then you can see what that says, but otherwise, the owner can do whatever they want.
