Anyone think that he will get a walk on the drug charges because of who his dad is?

Will he become the new poster child of the war on prescription drugs?

Does anyone really need an arrest of a "Hollyweird" type to "highlight" the fact that there is a prescription drug problem?

The last question is....how many people are tired of the media treating the american public like they are stupid?

First, Al Gore, Jr was not been arrested for anything and his father is dead and based on posts from people like you largely forgotten.

Now as far as Al Gore, III goes, I don't think it is so much who is father is, but that he will end up on a treatment, not punishment track, since 1) the drugs were prescription 2) he's white 3) he's employed 4) his family can afford to get him treatment. The perception will be that he is a good "kid" with a problem that deserves treatment. I think that any other young man in the same situation from an wealthy or upper middle class family would probably be treated the same way.

I think we need something to highlight the fact that there is a prescription drug problem in America. I think that lots of people don't realize what a problem it is. I also don't think that people realize that most teenagers who start using prescription drugs illegally got them at home or from a friends home.

Someones left over Oxycontin from a root canal or muscle relaxants from a back problem and so on is sometimes how it starts. Parents who lock up their liquor cabinets may keep these kinds of things in their medicine cabinets without thinking. My parents cleaned out their medicine cabinet recently and realized they had quiet a collection of narcotics from various surgeries and stuff. (Not that you could have found anything stronger that Advil when my sister and I lived at home.)

When did Al Gore jr. get arrested on drug charges? Are you referring to Al Gore III? He's the one that got arrested.

I despise Al Gore, but, this is a private family matter. We do not need to know.
