If you do, I'd just like to know why you believe that gay couples should not be wed, no arguments for or against, just wondering why.

I'm in that boat.
I'm gay, but seriously, I'd get freaked out with a wedding.
I don't see a point of a gay marriage.
If I love a guy, thats great, a piece of paper isn't gonna change anything. If I wanna have a big party to celebrate my love for him, thats great, I'll have one. But marriage, I'll leave that to the men and women.

I think that gay couples should be able to marry. I do, however, think that only the law should allow such a union. I am not religious in any sense of the word, but I think marriage is a purely religious tradition and as some of the major religions of the world condemn homosexuality, I think it would be complete hypocrisy (add some more shall we) for religions to allow such a contradiction. Then again, homosexuals have the right as anyone else to make a mockery of religion, and I have no intention of stopping them.

Have no prob with homosexuality, but oppose "marriage" because I think it is a religious thing, and getting "married" is to me the couple trying to fit in to regular society. A gay couple is not part of regular society, not the norm, so why go through the sham of having a "marriage". Live together, committ to each other, but needing society's and govt's approval to commit to each other is just not necessary or really required. Certainly the only reason I'd opt for it being ok is it it would be the only way you could get dependent/family benefits for your mate and any children.

I'm not for the gvmt regulation of marriage at all. Why do people need a notary stamp from the gvmt to determine if they are truly married.

My objection for the gvmt to recognize gay marriages is that gays will use this to opportunity to use the gvmt to force corporations to give benefits to married gay couples just like the gvmt forced corporations to cover straight families. The gvmt had no business dictating whom should get benefits at all, as this isn't the job of the gvmt.

Either you believe in freedom and take personal responsibility in your own hands, define your life as you see best for yourself, or you believe that freedom isn't as important as gvmt guaranteed security provided through the business end of the gun.

The reason I think most people are against it is because the bible is against it.

The reason it's hard to tell two gay people that they can not get married in the United States is because it goes against our Independence.

So I guess it comes to weather or not you want to stand up for the our constitutional rights or be a christian and stand up for what the bible says.

I don't know. Some people believe that it goes against the Bible and God. And some American issues, like the government.... I guess. But I do want to get married. I'll just go to Massachusetts to get married then!

For me, it's the whole Bible thing. Because it goes against God and what He says should be a "marriage". I think gay couples should be allowed some sort of union, just not a marriage under God.

I think it should be legalized for gays to marry. You can't force a church to perform a marriage they don't believe in, but on the otherhand, the church's need to shut up about it.
