I have a 67' Chevy Pickup and having a problem with my brake lights, and I know its not the brake light switch. Also the lights only light up with the parking lights on but don't brighten when the brake pedal is applied. What I have found out is when I took the steerin wheel off and adjusted some of the wires, one light would come on and the other one wouldn't. I tried it again and both lights stopped working. I think it's the wiring in the column, but nobody sells just the wiring for the column. Please help me

you brake light circuit it totally separate from your parking lights. trace power from the fuse box to the brake switch to the brake lights and then to ground. it must have a constant power source Hazard lights are tied in with a parallel circuit

It may be connected to the emergency flasher switch. one of the wires may have been broken or has had the insulation stripped while you were moving the wires. You may also check the fuses and see if they are still good. good luck.
