if 1 inch = 2.54 cm

then, 36 inches = 91.44 cm

since 1 meter = 100 cm

therefore, 36 inches is less than 1 meter

Thirty six inches in length is actually 3 feet or i yard. Meter, by common knowledge is longer. But let me prove to you mathematically.

one meter has 100 centimerters (centi means 1/100; therefore there are 100 of such 'centis" in a meter).

one inch has 2.54 centimeters.

therefore, a meter will have this many inches:

100 centimeters/2.54 centimeters = 39.37 inches.

Therefore, a meter is longer because it has 39.37 inches, compared to your 36 inches.

You have a blessed day.
