What you described sounds like really bad PMS. But yes, you can be pregnant with a period, I was. Still there was also something that would happen with my period at the change of seasons. It would be late or early and unusually heavy or light, my breast would be extremely tender and sometimes I even had nausea but only at the beginning of a new season, four times a year. Maybe that's what's happening with you.

One of the reasons why I didn't know I was pregnant for a while was that I would spot for a few days, then stop. This happened 4 or 5 times during the process of the pregnancy. Get yourself checked out if you haven't already.

A friend of mine had her period through her first five months of her 2nd pregnancy. Urine tests kept coming back negative even though an exam and ultrasound showed she was pregnant. A blood test however showed positive. Make an appt to get a blood test done.

PMS resembles early pregnancy symptoms. But if you had your period AND a negative pregnancy test you PROBABLY aren't pregnant. Anything is possible. If you had unprotected sex and it's a possiblity you should go to the doctor to get checked out.

there are incidences of what you call, "false" periods. "false" periods occur when you are already pregnant (for a week or two or three) and still get your period (for the last time).
we can never really tell if its a "false" period or just a bad case of pms... stop worrying yourself and go get pregnancy tested by your obgyne : )

It is possible to have implantation (I think that's the word) bleeding when you're pregnant, it's like your period but it's lighter and comes around the same time. They say you should take HPT's about a week after you miss your period

it could just be bad pms. try going to the doctor or try another test a week after your period has stopped.

It could be either. If you really want to be sure, you will need to go to the doctor. Some women menstrate their entire preganancies and home pregnancy tests gave them false negatives many times.
