The ego of a human being is what makes one! Let loose... the ego of one can cause irreparable damage... an absolute chaos in practical life! Restricted and directed towards a definite goal... one becomes a Bill Gates in life. The ego of a human being is directly governed by the emotions, the intellect, the wit and wisdom one practices in daily life!

Devoid of ego... every living being would be a mass of living flesh! It is our ego that propels one to work... carry out our daily karma with earnestness. In the absence of ego... no human being would ever work! All would idle on the cosmic path... leaving everything to chance! This would lead to absolute chaos world over.

Apart from our ego every human being is controlled by... rather guided by the sweet small voice of our soul atman within that seems to come from within our heart. Our heart is the dwelling place for our soul atman within. Whenever we tend to go wrong... this sweet small inner voice of our soul atman within tends to guide us on the right path. To follow or not to follow is the prerogative of every individual living being.

Human beings who form a goal in life prompted by the soul atman within always succeed in life. Those who let their ego find the path fail miserably! The ego of a human being prompted by wanton desires and the greed for materialistic riches mostly prompts one on the wrong path. Those who synchronize the desires of the ego and the soul atman within always keep happy. More on Ego - http://www.godrealized.com/aham_ego.html

The ego's beliefs and attitudes are what restrict a lot of freedom. Physical freedom is restricted by the body itself.

Awareness of one's self.... social self consciousness.

If you have the knowledge that you are a separate being from others you then realize that you can be different, and we all tend to judge differences.

This can be seen as a child grows... their self-awareness influences the things they do. Infants are only limited by their physical abilities, their minds do not yet hold them back.

Although, in a person with severe mental disabilities, this is not true which requires great effort on the part of said person's care-takers, to do the limitation for them.

And it is because of social understandings, that we must have some limitations to our freedom.

Which is why we say we are only free so far as it doesn't interfere with the freedom of others. Or as the Wiccans say.... An it harm none, do as thou will.

The human body itself restricts your freedom. Your mind would go farther if not for the body and its distracting natures. Love, lust, envy, fatigue, confusion, nervousness, anger, and more. These all subtract from your conscience.

^^The mind doesn't restrict your freedom! You stop yourself by thinking that you!, yes you!!! cannot, will not, are not able to accomplish and see your own full potential!

our mind... each one of us have our own mindset that is effected by our own experience & our environment (society and family). for example, if we are born in a family which have a certain believe we will tend ro restrict ourself to follow the rule of that believe and therefore will restrict our freedom whether you realise it or not. So... try to have an open mind and therefore you will have your freedom.

Every thing that shouldn't be there such as Illness, fatigue, stresses is what is wrong and prevent someone from appreciating life. We are already free to use the laws of nature the best we can to achieve our goals. Lack of freedom is an illusory concept that is created when you fail to appreciate life and its laws.

You can only have the kind of freedom that would correspond to your nature. Therefore, it is your physicality itself, which constitutes your human nature as being finite and contingent. Absolute freedom would require a nature that was infinite and omnipotent, (meaning that it would not be dependent on any other reality for to existence.) Human nature is certainly not in any way infinite and omnipotent. As such, the only freedom that our nature posseses is mitigated and limited.

The mind of course...if you think you can't do something then you won't...therefore the most restricting thing within the human body is the human brain!!!

inside the body... that microchip which NSA, CIA, and other acronym authorities placed in my penis at birth; everytime I try to exercise my freedom I'm alerted to the presence of a female, lost all oxygenated blood to the microchip and am not responsible for my actions anymore- at least that's what the Catholic "Father O'dowd" told me. Father is formal, he insisted on being called daddy.
What the hell kind of question is this!? And what kind of church did I go to come to think of it...
