All Socialist programmes are 'progressive' - that is, progressing towards communism...
"It is certainly irrational to use the "new" as a standard of value, to believe that an idea or a policy is good merely because it is new. But it is much more preposterously irrational to use the "old" as a standard of value, to claim that an idea or a policy is good merely because it is ancient. The "liberals" are constantly asserting that they represent the future, that they are "new," "progressive," "forward-looking," etc.—and they denounce the "conservatives" as old-fashioned representatives of a dead past. The "conservatives" concede it, and thus help the "liberals" to propagate one of today's most grotesque inversions: collectivism, the ancient, frozen, status society, is offered to us in the name of progress—while capitalism, the only free, dynamic, creative society ever devised, is defended in the name of stagnation."

When it benefits the people...keep in mind that when you use a few bad examples of socialism, you can of course make any point..but under Chavez and Castro the people are taken care of...now, "socialism" is "progressive" in most of the Western World and puts the U.S. to shame...I think that is what you mean..maybe because I am caffed up too.

And you are comparing people who say "the poor shouldn't die becuase they don't have health insurance" to people who say "the rich should be sent to concentration camps"? Well in that case I hold that anyone who thinks "taxes are a bit high" is automatically of the same opinion as any fascist you care to mention.
The world's not black and white. Time you realised that.

I watched a snail crawl along the edge of a straight razor. That's my dream. That's my nightmare. Crawling, slithering, along the edge of a straight... razor... and surviving.

Around the time "conservative" became the largest entitlements in US history, the deficit became "irrelevant", and we became the "policemen of the world"?
