Possibly, but only economically at this point.

India is getting lots of outsource jobs from the United States and China is big on manufacturing, but the two aren't really bumping heads just yet.

Wait 10 years and ask this question again.

Currently no. THey are friendly economic competitors but also economical allies as well. However, there have been military conflicts in the past over land disputes...and future disputes may occur. If a war breaks out of course China is a threat to india. I believe China would have the upper hand in a war. But if China and India can form a solid alliance kinda like the EU or US/UK (not sure if this ones good example lol) they can become superpower allies...and could dominate the world together...kinda like if US and Russia had become best allies...they'd probably still be dominating stronger and for longer...
