Why does half life 2 lag so much?

i have amd x2 3800+, geforce 6100 onboard with, 1 gb ram?/ the game is really slow

Yep, that sounds about right.

The Geforce 6100 is an adapter that BARELY ekes by the minimum requirements for the game.

You could try lowering the quality or the resolution, but you would be better off buying one of the better dedicated video cards.

Any of the 6800 series, and anything higher than the 7600 series or Nvidia cards. Also anything higher than the X1600 from ATI.

its ur intergrated graphics thats slowing the game down. get a dedicated graphics card.
