You are absolutely right our so called political leaders whom few sycophants consider as far sighted leaders were actually were only concerned with their own political benefits on immediate basis as they either were interested to hold high political offices or wanted to make financial profits out of this partition’s even where flowing in the high sky’s of being called great people or mahatma that they never bothered the future of these countries & the suffering the large numbers of people living across the border will suffer through out their life time. Its a real pity when we people of two sides fight amongst ourself, acuss & abuse each other sitting here in India or Pakistan but when these very people meet & interact amongst each our in some foreign country they are more like people of one family, they live together in same colonies, are neighbors of each other, marry amongst each other's family, eat together, enjoy together. This factor of two countries is never between them it only here when we are sitting in our individual countries with our corrupt politicians who are belonging to the generations of those who divided the country in two parts we get that enmity feeling not otherwise. Sometimes I don't like to take name of all those & these politicians that what I personally feel that taking name of these rascals will spoil my tongue with some sort of infectious disease & actually these politicians are infectious disease of our society & country. Let any sycophant reading my reply give me thumbs down or call me names I don't bother but what I say here is a hard fact about my country & its tragedy.

Jinnah was mostly responsible for the partition ,,,, but if you think of it .. i guess it was the mentality of the people at those times ... i mean just coz some stupid self-styled leader said that you should leave the place that generations of ur family lived on ...doesn't mean you should really have left ... the civil war that came after the declaration shouldn't have been focused on the other religion ( Muslims killing Hindus .. Hindus killing Muslims .. what did it lead to ??? ) ... it should have been focused on the organization that was asking for this partition .... if the people had an idea of what was actually happening to them ... i guess the partition would never have happened

The whole partition is an example of how a person at the top can do his bidding on a BILLION illiterate people who have no idea whats goin on ... but accept things that are said to them without debating and questioning it ( or even thinking on it for more than a few seconds )

Actually ... if you think of it ... The country would have eventually split anyway .. it would have been TOO big and TOO varied for any govt to keep stable for a long time

Jinnah was the cunning person among the leaders. He waited till India would get freedom & with the same heat he tricked & made up pakistan.

If they really wanted a pakistan, y didn't they bring up the issue when India was struggling for freedom? Y did they wait till the British would leave India?

1.India would have been a threat to USA n CHINA..if not for the partition..technologically/agriculturally..

2.I hold Gandhi n his pupil Nehru for this fiasco..Jinna was playing into popular demands of the followers of his faith..n we know that after partition the Islamic followers of Pakistan refused to acknowledge the existence of the faith of Indian Muslims..many a derogatory terms were coined n traded..

imagine... if there was no pakistan..then there wouldnt be USA in the deserts of afghansitan trying to incite talibans (osama bin laden) to fight the soviets..n no terrorists..

but in a way its a good thing...let the people of pakistan fight it out amongst themselves..whether they want democracy/religious extremism(LAL MASJID INCIDENTS)..n what about india..it has enough on its plate with corrupt leaders swindling its coffers..n mocking the highest seat of democracy..by even thinking big b could be an option..

i may have hurt the hearts of fellow indians..but this is my observation n i am a patriot first..

So far i know, we all are stronger because of our fights, our troubles, and problems, so is our India.
In every country there are politicians who only looks @ their selfgain in it, may be that had caused the partition.
Lets just say, our India is India, b/c of wat it had gone through, and all we could do is learn from it & try to forgive. We had our struggles and we are still having some greater crisis and past is well behind, we need to look at the future, and live in the present.

Friction with border countries are inevitable unless they are too weak or too strong. That is politics.
Why we are silent before China ? Are they keeping their foot inside their territory. If Himalayas were not there ,they could have come up to Hyderabad .Today Assam is in India.Tomorrow where will it be?
At least with Pakistan both can play forever on Kashmir !

Please let us not crib about past. The future of our nation can be bright if we try to resolve present problems our nation is facing.
And mind you the way these reservations is being done one day we might be further divided in future. So take care of present.
We, the people are responsible to let the politicians get away with anything- even division of nation.
