I have a 1997 Honda Civic EX. I had a great mechanic, but the shop is under new ownership and the quality of work has gone way down. I appreciate your input. Thanks!

Typically Haynes offers more pictures than the Chilton manuals. So if you're just starting to learn how to do automotive repair, a Haynes manual can be more helpful.

I prefer Chilton, But Have been told Haynes is better.....

Both are decent manuals.

I would grab a haynes - anything it doesn't cover is easily found on-line anyway.
