personally i loved it. it had a great mechanism for letting people laugh at their own prejudices whilst not noticing the irony through their thick ignorant skulls (glad you enjoyed it by the way).
controversy because many of the characters portrayed in the movie were given vague contracts, most did not know they were going to be in a movie, and some were even exploited for their means (Borat's "home town" is a poor farming community, they were paid peanuts - that means near nothing if you didn't already know - and were set up as some pathetic, disgusting town of rapists and prostitutes).
but again, great movie, groundbreaking mockumentary.

Super funny!
People should learn to laugh at themselves, stereotypes are true. It's nothing wrong if people have prejudices or false views about others, it's simply a human thing to do so. If nobody had these funny ideas, the world would be a boring place.
The things that were said in the movie, although irreverent, are very accurate. I think instead of trying to shut off the truth, people should take a closer look at themselves and others around them.

It was the funniest movie in the last 10 years, right up there with The Jerk. Sometimes the best way to fight racism is to expose how stupid it really is. You have to remember a Jew is saying all those things.
Napoleon Dynamite sucked, I didn't find any part of that funny.

Borat is a great movie. A lot of people think otherwise because they are conservative Aholes who have nothing better to do. The only true controversy is the Three frat boys in the trailer driving across the country. They were drunk and signed the consent papers as such. They later sued because it showed the boys in a bad light...when in truth it let the veiwer know how they really are.
Borat was 2 Thumbs up man! I would like to play in your vagine.

I thought it was an overall stupid movie - except for a few funny parts.
He equally dissected every race, creed, and religion so all is fair it was equally offensive to everyone at some point which. I have no problem with the movie in that respect.

I love Borat. Sacha Cohen is a funny guy.
I'm also jewish and we need more guys like him, making clean fun of ourselves and exposing the true ignorance and
anti-semitism in the world. Great character!!

there is controversy around borat becuase he is disgracing his own people in the film and only paying maybe $10 for being made fun of. the people he is making fun of in the begining in kazakstan have no idea what borat is doing or saying and so the borat found it alright to exploite them. i think the movie was a bad movie
