ex: yea so i went in wit dis guy...

whose brain actually thinks this way? Speaking is one thing but a keyboart is laid out to make it easy as possible to spell, so wouldnt it be counterproductive to type incorrectly. Also, it makes the user seem like an uneducated pud.

I agree with everyone else. either they text or type their lives away and it's easier, or they think it's cool to be stupid. I've met very, very few people who talk that way. Slang as substitution I've encountered, but blatent changing, (i.e wit=with) I don't think it's an across the board thing.

I don't know, but my cell phone is pre-programmed to type that way and it drives me nuts. I did finally learn how to turn that feature off so I can spell like a human.

I agree, it does make the user seem like an unedcuated pud.

when writing on these things you want to write as if your talking to people you may be asking the question to. people answer so they must understand. No one really talks like a term paper. sometime you want to put you accent into what you're typing. I don't think it's a reflection of less education at all. neither is "ebonics." that's a whole other issue for me so that is all i'll say.

some people prefer to type the same way they talk and would rather not separate the two and it might depend on the target audience. i talk differently to my parents than i do to my friends, same way with typing.

ebonic version:
i wanna write da same way i talk so its da same all da time. if i talk diffrnt to my folks an my crew dey might be thinkin i'm 2 faceded

ya feel me?
besides, some people just don't care how they are percieved, stupid, uneducated or otherwise

Well considering that 60% of people are severely uneducated or have no common sense....your answer is easy. They do as they are taught and don't know any better.

I think it's just a matter of laziness: less letters to type=less energy expended. Also, because it became "cool" to type like that, a lot of people DO think like that now. And that's sad. I mean, have you ever heard anyone SAY lol or wtf in public? That's just embarrassing and they don't even realize it.

Myriad of reasons. Use of texting, lack of education, thinking that it is cool, and possibly foreign born, so not used to the language.
