Obviously you will have to get all the stuff removed as far as tire, brakes, rotor and the splash guard off before starting with the ball joint. Then remove the cotter pin from the lower ball joint and buzz of the castle nut on the ball joint. Then smack the joint to loosen the joint to the lower control arm. Don't take the joint out of the control arm yet as it's good to leave it sort of held while you do the next part of this. If you have original ball joints, they will be rivoted to the control arm with some pretty hefty rivots. These are not easy to get out!! What I always did was clean off the area to be sure I could clearly see the rivot head and with a center punch and hammer, wham a center mark into the bottom of the rivot. Then using a small drill, drill holes right through all the rivots trying to shoot through the center. Then I would keep drilling using ever bigger drill bits to enlarge the holes until I was close to the control arm hole size. Then I would use an air chisel or a sharp cold chisel and hammer to clip the rivot head off. Now it is a matter or pounding or air hammering the rivot body out of the control arm. Then you just have to pry the control arm down to slip the joint out of the arm. When you replace the ball joint all you have to do is be sure the burrs are taken off the area you were working on and just slip the ball joint into place. The replacement ones come with bolts so it's only a matter of tightening to spec. Then pry the arm down again and slip the new ball joint into the control arm. Tighten to spec and install a new cotter pin. Re-assemble all the front end stuff that you have taken off and you are done. Good luck.

If one is bad, have them all done. Then, you'll need another front end alignment.
