Thomas reached HOF worthiness years ago. Hitting his 500th home run was just icing the cake.

Frank Thomas was a hall of famer regardless if he hit the so called magic number. Frank Thomas was the best, more feared/best hitter/batter in the Majors from 93-97.

For a simmilar comparison, see Albert Belle.

In my opinion he was a Hall of Famer even without the 500 homeruns. He is definitely a Hall of Famer.

No doubt about it. I don't think he even needed the 500 homeruns to get in. He's a career .303 hitter (that's the 6th highest BA of guys in the 500 HR club), has a .422 OBP, he won consecutive MVP awards, and is the only player in history to have 7 consecutive season with a .300 BA, 100 walks, 100 runs, 100 RBI and 20 homeruns.

He's an automatic Hall Of Famer.

Yes. He was one of the most dominant hitters of his era. He won a few MVPs. The 500 mark isn't an automatic entry anymore because of the suspicion steroids has cast over the game, but Thomas is one of the few that has escaped doubt because of his skill and size--he's always been a big guy.

Tough call. It'll be a new era over the next few years when the HOF voters have to decide if career DH's or players who spent a bulk of their career just dh'ing are worthy of being in the Hall. Myself, I don't think just hitting qualifies you, but that's my opinion.

Frank was the best right handed hitter in the 90's. His numbers were amazing. And - he is clean!
