Elections are advance auctions on stolen goods. However, I think it is crazy not to vote as you only make things worse for yourself.
By not voting and claiming that you therefore don't consent to the government, you're advancing their absurd argument that everybody consents. By voting and voting for somebody who will reduce the size of the government, you're acknowledging that the government is a criminal organization that operates by violence and that there is no such thing as the consent of the governed.

National Politics is a dirty game. You don't rise to the top levels of power without being ruthless.
