I am doing a research project and I need to find out what company was the original manufacturer of the tail lights on specific cars. Is there any place I can get that information?

Most part manufacturers have an id code that is molded into every part they make and sell. Usually it is a 5 digit ID of numbers or numbers and letters. Each plant has it's own cage number for traceability purposes. Cage stands for Corporate and Government Entity number or something like that.
