Thanks for the advice
Actually I did check which prog which is using up the CPU and is normally the exploer.exe and the system ldle. Also sometime it just happens so suddenly even when I was not using the PC. As well as this, how could I increase the RAM?

This is usually caused by not enough RAM on the machine. If your CPU is being pushed more because of other applications the PC is using the CPU to do page faulting and transfering data between the hard drive and memory. A good suggestion is to see what is running by doing a Ctrl-Alt-Del and looking at the processes. Then sort by Mem Usage and see what is eating lots of memory. This could be the culprit. Also, More RAM memory helps.

This is not common unless you have a virus or worm taking up capacity. The brand name of the pc is not relevant.
Hit control - alt - delete simultaneously to see windows task manager. Click on the process tab, click, on the CPU column header as this makes the display sort; you want the sort to be decreasing in order. System Idle should be the highest useage most of the time; if it is something else you have a problem that needs to be addressed. Record the culprit's name and then research on how to remove it.

Something must have been running in the background. Try checking whether any of your antiviruses or other scanning software is doing a scan without your knowledge. Or close any unnecessary programs under the Processes tab in Ctrl-Alt-Del. Close those with user name which is not SYSTEM or * Service. Google those processes if you are unsure of them. Or try Security task manager available from http://www.download.com.
Low memory doesn't really affect it from my experiences. A 100% cpu means it is because of a program running. A big program. Like a full-screen game.

I've seen window updating taking 100% of the cpu on some win2k machines, anything could be doing it.
Use ctrl alt and delete ,open task manager and click on the "processes" tab
That will tell what application is taking up your CPU.
You can cross reference the process here
http://www.processlibrary.com/
It will tell what program/application it belongs too and if its safe to disable.
Keeping that in mind you can disable services and also start up items by...... clicking start>run, type msconfig and click on the start up tab, disable any programs you don't need at startup (may include the 100% culprit).
If not go to the services tab and search down the list, the link provided with give you info on the sevice/process.
Good luck

In addition to all the other answers I would suggest you look at Event Viewer for I/O errors.
If you have 100% CPU usage it suggests that you may have a more serious problem and that your hard drive is beginning to fail.
Double click on Administrative Tools via Control Panel and select Event Viewer and check the System section to any hardware related problems.

I have seen this happen to my friends laptop. When ever he starts it I noticed it was running sort of slow so I hit ctrl+alt and delete. I checked around and saw it was svhost running at 100%. I know that Windows uses this but I just closed that proccess and it works fine. If you google it some people say its a virus while others say its just a window app. Hope this helps

Press ctrl Alt Del at the same time. Then select the process tab. You will then see what's using all your power.

Low on memory probably. Close out as much as you can and try to have only one thing open at a time. All the little icons on the bottom of the windows screen close all that you don't need.

I think its something to do with RAM or something mine always has a max of 13% because my brother built it for my son and it has about 2 gigabytes worth of it if its not that then its your hard drive either way i think your pc is just retro (my nice way of saying old)
