Since WW2 the name Hitler has become understandably unpopular. Nevertheless, there has to be a whole bunch of people with the surname Hitler. So where are they? Wheres Bob Hitler or Wendy Hitler or Jeff Hitler? If you google Hitler you just get old Adolf. He was surely not the last of the Hitlers so where have they all gone? Genghis Khan was pretty handy at killing folk but theres still loads of people called Khan. Whats so special about Hitler?

I read recently about William Hitler, Adolf's nephew. He and his mother emigrated to the US during the war and he did a series of lectures about his Uncle. He did change his name in 1947 to Stuart-Houston though, and I don't really blame him. There's an interesting article about him here:

Also, the Hitler family tree is here:

Very interesting question ! I did an online search for Hitler in the online white pages, and there were some listings. I was going to post it in my source, but I was afraid that might lead to some crank calls.

If anyone wishes to verify what I said, do an online search of the white pages.

However, it wouldn't surprise me if tons of people who were born with that last name changed it. If my last name was Hitler, I would change it as soon as I was legally able. If I married a guy with that last name, unless he changed it to something else.

I should imagine all the relatives dumped the surname pretty rapidly after the war!

I seem to remember a documentary about the remnants of his family on TV a while ago. Can't remember if they still had the 'name'.

Cause his name wasn't Hitler. It was a made up name . His right surname was (Hope I can spell it) Schicklegruber. or very similar to that.

They probably changed their last names or the women married other guys and dropped their last names. I WOULD HAVE DONE THAT.
