People talk about power and capacity of an engine? Is it only in relation to its output or is it related to any other out put of the engine?

Capacity is the size of the engine usually expressed in CC cubic centimetres.The power output is not in relation to its size although larger capacity engines tend to produce more power.The power of an engine is usually measured in horse power.one h/p is the effort required to lift 33,000lbs one foot in one minute.The best place to see this is howstuffworks.com auto section hope this helps Mick UK>

The capacity of the engine is measured by the Bore x stroke ie. the cc of the piston & bore according to the CC the engine gets the more or less power here power means the load given to the engine.
