C'mon. Scam

it is likely a scam.

Generally, if something is "too good to be true" , then it isn't true.

Here are the things that I and friends have found when we've tried some of these "too good to be true" items in the past - either the items don't exist at all (and you end up losing your money and not being able to get it back), they are broken and the seller doesn't mention it obviously, or the item is counterfeit.

Why would someone sell a legit version of a $300+ unit for $30? Even if they were tired of it, or it was a first generation item, the person would normally sell it starting at a price where they would recoup most of the original cost.

About the only time I could think of a legit reason an item might be selling cheap would be someone having stolen an item and trying to get rid of it before the police find out, or perhaps a messy divorce, etc. where property, again, is being sold quickly, leaving the buyer to deal with the ramifications, etc.

Save yourself the risk and hassle. Buy one from GameStop or EB Games or something. I think they're like $70-$80 now...plus you probably get a free game.

I don't know though, that is more then twice as much. You could take a chance, but you should expect it not to work to save the dissapointent. Who knows though, you might get lucky.

I feel more comfortable buying from just some person trying to sell of their system they don't use anymore to make a few bucks then some guy or online business that sells hundreds of them a month. Usually with those kinds of sellers you can count on something refurbished or damaged in some way. The average joe probably has a solid working used system he bought 3-4 years ago.

Just use good judgement thats all.

Always read the fine print--you won't be able to buy an XBox for $30 anywhere--chances are it's a case for the XBox or the person's rating is really low or doesn't have a reputation yet. Always read EVERYTHING carefully and check out the person's rating.

It's probbaly ligit but I would invest in a Xbox now that they are coming out w/ new systems it will be hard to even find any decent games for it, funny you mentioned that I just sold my Xbox to my b/f's little brother for $30, w/ 4 controllers, 20 games, and memory cards.

I've used ebay for years, had good deals and bad.

Re-read the ad. I bet somthing is missing or broken. Is it a person or a shop.

Also, check the shipping and handeling. May people are inflating the shipping and handeling charges to beat ebay.

It sounds fishy to me. Check your local pawn shops.

If it seems too good to be true, then it probably is!!

Make sure you aren't just buying the cardboard box it goes in - it has happened!
