My daughter was on Enfamil Nutramagen. It is expensive but if your baby has a medical diagnosis for the formula such as reflux or other stomach problems sometimes the insurance will pay. You should try breast feeding that is the cheapest and easiest way to prevent colic. I wish I would have breast fed. Anyway, try that formula it wonder great with my daughter. They also sell mylacon drops to reduce gas. You might want to try the Playtex nurser bottles with the bag so you can be sure the baby gets no air in the bottle.

similac isomil advance. It worked for our child.

You should also go buy some homeopathic gas drops for your child. They are cheap and are harmless to your child. I promise they will provide you will hours more of sleep a night. They reduce the bubbles in the formula and in your baby's stomach. You can see it work when you put them in the formula. You can get them at any pharmacy or Target. I wish people would have told me about them earlier.

Just an FYI if you decide to get them, they will generally only work for the first 9 months or so. By then babies should be able to pass gas and burp without assistance.

With my first one I had the same situation. She was very colicky and switched formula. We gave her Similac(soy) and o boy thank goodness, she did alot better.
I know you can find drops for gassy tummy's from Gerber.
Good luck.

We had a VERY gassy baby. We used the Similac Soy Formula. This combined with Mylicon, an OTC gas reliever for infants, helped. It didn't stop the belly gas all together, but it did decrease the time that he was in pain and helped him pass it easier.

Also to help them pass it, you can lay him on his back and slowly lift his knees up to his chin in almost a crunch fashion. This also helped our son.

Enfamil annd Similac both have special formulas for colicky and gassy babies. Enfamil is a little bit more expensive, but they are both good. Also, you can try the Mylicon gas drops, they are good.
Good luck, I hope your little one feels better.

Try an Anti Reflux formula or a thickened formula. That worked best for my 2 babies & wind drops.

Similac alimentum(sp?) Its a bit pricey and my daughter HAD to use the ready to feed bottle in our area they where 8 dollars a bottle and lasted about 3 days. But we had no problems after that and she was also a projectile vomiter.

I always found the teats made the difference - not the formula, really. Have you tried something like InfaCol?

Good luck - he will settle better soon, I promise. The first few weeks are incredibly hard.
