All e mail clients work the same way.

I presume you have a POP3 server and an SMTP server (you are not on a corporate mail server using Exchange).

I also presume your internet connection is working (open your browser to any public internet site and make sure).

Check your e mail configuration. These don't usually change but check anyway.

Get the names of your POP3 and SMTP server and your e mail account password from your ISP to make sure these are accurate. Also see if the ports for the POP3 or SMTP server has been changed from the standard ones, and determine if your SMTP server requires authentication. Your ISP has this info. Ask the ISP if anything has changed on their end as this may be the case.

Go into E mail accounts and select your account.

1. Make sure the e mail address, POP3 Server Name, SMTP server names are appropriate and your password is ok. You may wish to reenter it.
2. Make sure you have addressed the smtp requires authentacion matter
3. Make sure you have addressed the ports.

Things should now work.

Double check your POP3 and SMTP settings. If they appear incorrect, contact your ISP and ask them for the correct entries.
