Your post is a little confusing. Do you want to cut letters OFF of leather or cut letters OUT of leather? If the letters are sewn on, a stitch cutter would work or very carefully with an Exacto knife. Cutting letters out of leather could be done with the Exacto knife.

they make punches for this but i dont know wher to get any right off hand you may be able to get cookie cutters and get most of the way through and cut rest with sheirsuse wood table wood mallet or board maybe an arts and craft store
