on this board:

there=their or they're is the one I see most often
and
athiest = atheist
Christain or Xtian=Christian
misplaced apostrophes are also popular

It's funny because it's usually the smaller words that are most commonly misspelled. I think it must be because people are most conscious of the correct spelling of the larger words.?

I don't condemn anyone for spelling, I'm sure that I misspell words and my grammar is not always the best. But sometimes reading the question with a misspelled word will throw off the flow and meaning for me. And sometimes the grammar can change the meaning of a question, so you might have to read it 2 or 3 times to understand what the person is trying to say.
Aren't computer forums great?

blessings :)

If you are referencing people on Yahoo! Answers, I'd say probably all of them. Correct spelling or running spell checker before a question or answer is submitted is not a top priority.

There is so much intentional mispelling these days, there are too many to list on here. Intentional mispelling drives me nuts too.! It's not cute and it does make it hard to understand what they are trying ot say at times.

Separate, I know that one gets me a lot. Also, the different variations of to/too/two. I always see people mixing those up.

I seem to see "Genious" a lot and "Discusting" but I can't talk. I'm a terrible speller. I always have problems with "Definitely". Good job there's a spell checker.
